Pirelli Chooses Soft Tyres for F1’s September Races

01/08/2024

Pirelli announces soft tyres for F1 races in Monza, Baku, and Singapore this September, promising exciting challenges.

The Grand Prix scheduled for September will see the use of Pirelli’s three softest compounds: Italy (September 1), Azerbaijan (September 15), and Singapore (September 22).

For all three races, the C3 will be the hard, the C4 the medium, and the C5 the soft, exactly the same selection as last year.

While the urban circuits of Baku and Singapore are the natural habitat for the chosen compounds, their selection for Monza could lead to some surprises.

Indeed, it should be noted that the track hosting the Italian Grand Prix has been completely redone, with work having been completed just a few weeks ago.

It will be interesting to see how Pirelli, along with the teams and drivers, will tackle this new challenge and how the compounds will perform on this new surface.

Before these three races and after the break, from August 23 to 25, Zandvoort will take place, and Pirelli had already announced in mid-July that for this very challenging race, featuring two banked turns, the trio of hardest compounds, like those used at Silverstone, will come into play: C1 as hard, C2 as medium, and C3 as soft.
