Vasseur expresses delight as Carlos Sainz secures a future with Williams F1, anticipating valuable contributions.

It is unusual for a team principal to welcome a driver’s decision to move elsewhere, yet it is known that Frédéric Vasseur did not part with Carlos Sainz lightly when he had the opportunity to sign Lewis Hamilton at the start of the year.

Thus, the Frenchman is pleased to see that the Ferrari driver has secured a Formula 1 seat for the future.

“I am pleased that Carlos is joining Williams Racing from next season,” Vasseur stated in a release issued by Ferrari.

“This is a team with a rich history and a significant legacy, founded by a visionary man with an ambitious vision, so I know Carlos will feel at home there.”

He also praised Williams team boss James Vowles, who is only in his second year at the helm of the team.

“I have great respect for James and I am confident that Carlos will make a valuable contribution to his team.”

Vasseur is keen to end his collaboration with Sainz on a high note.

“For now, Carlos remains a Ferrari driver, and over the remaining ten races, we will all work hard, focus on our objectives, and fight together for every point until the very last lap of this championship.”
