Despite challenges at the Hungaroring, Williams F1 is optimistic about seizing upcoming opportunities.
Alex Albon hopes for a successful weekend in Hungary, though the Williams F1 driver is uncertain if the Hungaroring will suit his FW46. He remains hopeful for opportunities to achieve a good result.
“The Hungaroring is a track I’ve always enjoyed driving, and it’s always a pleasure to see how passionate the fans are in Budapest,” said Albon. “Following a strong weekend at Silverstone, but a more challenging triple-header, we will take lessons from the past weeks.”
“We will try to apply them in Hungary. Traditionally, it’s a circuit that does not suit our car well, and with the hot temperatures, we will need to seize opportunities where we can.”
Logan Sargeant appreciates the Hungarian circuit and hopes to excel: “I’m thrilled to be back in Hungary this week! It’s a fun circuit to drive with winding turns and a quick, smooth second sector that makes it very satisfying. We aim to continue the momentum from Silverstone to achieve a positive result on Sunday.”
Sven Smeets, the sporting director of Williams, values the Hungaroring for its setting and acknowledges its popularity in the Formula 1 world. He confirms that the heat will be a key factor for the weekend’s success.
“Budapest is a delightful place to come, and the Hungaroring is favored by many drivers. This weekend, we’ll be using the soft tire range, and with very high track temperatures, tire management will be crucial for achieving good race results,” notes Smeets.
“It’s a circuit where we tend to struggle as a team, but we’ve learned valuable lessons from Barcelona, and thus, we hope to make progress in the right direction this weekend.”
