Designed by Adrian Newey and Red Bull Advanced Technologies, the RB17 draws on 20 years of Formula 1 innovation that has helped Red Bull Racing secure six constructors’ titles. The RB17 features a two-seater carbon fiber monocoque chassis with a naturally aspirated V10 engine in a mid-engine layout that can rev up to 15,000 rpm.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a carbon fiber gearbox. Weighing under 900 kg and with more than 1,200 hp, the RB17 delivers lap times equivalent to F1 (according to Red Bull…) and top speeds over 350 km/h, while remaining user-friendly.

From the development of the initial concept to the delivery of the finished RB17 to customers, Red Bull Advanced Technologies is responsible for the entire design and build process of the Hypercar, with only 50 units to be sold.

Each RB17 customer is welcomed into the Red Bull family with a complete client journey, including a range of track events giving owners the chance to experience some of the world’s greatest circuits. Development and customization of the car to meet each driver’s needs are part of this unique experience. Each RB17 will be customized, with clients able to specify everything from the exterior paint color to interior materials, along with a host of finer details.

Christian Horner, CEO and Team Principal of Red Bull Racing, stated, “We are thrilled to unveil the RB17 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, a project that is one of the most genuine and exciting undertakings that Red Bull Advanced Technologies has embarked upon to date. With 20 years of F1 heritage to draw on, and as a performance-centered organization, it made sense for us to design our own Hypercar from scratch. Combining technical innovation, achievement, and emotional appeal, the RB17 is a historic car. I am very proud of the team and excited to see it make its global debut. We expect the RB17 to be a future classic.”

Adrian Newey, Group Technical Director, added, “I had contemplated the challenge of designing our own Hypercar, from concept to delivery, for many years and it has been a beautiful project and journey. The fact that this is finally the day we will unveil and witness the birth of the RB17 is truly remarkable. The RB17 Hypercar embodies everything we stand for: undeniable power, speed, and beauty. It is highly adaptable in its capabilities, and we made sure to design it as a two-seater so that the thrill of driving at F1 speeds can be enjoyed with a friend or partner.”

Rob Gray, Technical Director of Red Bull Advanced Technologies, concluded, “The RB17 is an incredible project that we have had the privilege to work on and which has allowed Red Bull Advanced Technologies to showcase our engineering, design, and technical capabilities and solutions. We look forward to seeing the finished cars being fully appreciated on a track by racing and automotive enthusiasts.”
