Stroll's Ambition Key to Aston Martin's 2024 Revival

Alonso Backs Stroll for Rapid Aston Martin Turnaround

Fernando Alonso trusts Lawrence Stroll’s ambition will accelerate Aston Martin’s recovery in 2024, despite recent setbacks.

Fernando Alonso has asserted that Aston Martin F1 will overcome its difficulties in 2024 more swiftly than rival Formula 1 teams due to the ambition of its owner, Lawrence Stroll.

The team based in Silverstone has been losing ground in the development race for nearly a year now.

But while Alonso has warned that Aston Martin appears to be regressing towards the midfield, the Spaniard has renewed his confidence in Stroll Sr for a turnaround.

“It always shows that F1 is a complex sport,” Alonso remarked about Aston’s problems.

“McLaren, until the seventh race in Austria last year, were struggling to get out of Q1. And they had a great team, great people, superb facilities, and an excellent brand as well.”

“And then you find something that, you know, finally brings the car to life, and it changes everything with these ground effect rules.”

“And it’s the same for us, you know, last year, until mid-season, we were, you know, the team to watch and copy.”

“And suddenly you can quickly take two or three steps backwards. So now we need to focus on ourselves, get back to the grindstone.”

“I think that unlike other teams, we have an excellent leader in Lawrence.”

“We not only have an ambitious team owner, but also an extremely competitive person behind us, and we will sort things out faster than other teams, I think, thanks to him.”
