Nico Hülkenberg impresses by reaching Q3, while Kevin Magnussen vents his frustration over traffic caused by Oscar Piastri at Imola.

Nico Hülkenberg once again stood out in qualifying at Imola, notably with an excellent 3rd time in Q1!

For the German, it was ultimately the 10th and last time in Q3, as the RB F1 drivers performed better.

“It’s really nice to be in the top 10 again. Unfortunately, I’m not entirely satisfied with the Q3 in the last lap, but it’s quite enjoyable to push on a qualifying lap here at Imola. I enjoyed it, so we’ll take this good result today and obviously try to defend this position tomorrow.”

“Yesterday, our long-run data looked good, and I think we saw that all the midfield teams are very close to each other. The race could be quite static because overtaking is not easy, which is why today’s qualifying and track position are even more important here.”

Kevin Magnussen was eliminated in Q1, severely hindered by Oscar Piastri at the beginning of his last fast lap. The Dane was angry while awaiting the stewards’ decision on the Australian, which will not change his fate: 18th on the grid.

“I don’t know what’s going on this year, but it keeps happening and it has to stop. We don’t seem to be doing anything different from the others in terms of timing, but in seven qualifying sessions, we’ve had traffic in five that caused us problems exactly on the lap that needs to count. It’s not an easy track to overtake, and it will look like a one-stop race, so we’ll see what happens.”
