Lewis Hamilton expresses frustration with F1 results, aiming for a successful Mercedes finale.
Lewis Hamilton expresses his distress over his lack of success in F1 for his final season with Mercedes.
Hamilton, who will join Ferrari next year, stated that “the most painful part” of his upcoming departure is the team’s lack of results so far.
He has yet to finish a Grand Prix in the top five.
“I think everyone on the team wants this to be a great year. Everyone has worked very hard at the factory, no less than ever.”
“For me, this entire journey has been extremely emotional simply because I have so much love for this team. I’m not leaving because I’m unhappy. I’m not leaving due to relationship issues. Mercedes has supported me since I was 13 years old so I love the brand. I love the people. They have been with me through thick and thin. So, it’s definitely a strange transition right now.”
Hamilton has not won a race since the penultimate round of 2021.
“It’s been tough… it’s actually tough. Of course, we exist to win and when you don’t win, your perspective has to change. And it’s just about chasing something else and improving. How can we make improvements? How can we get back to where we want to be and unite everyone behind this challenge?”
“Actually, I have really enjoyed this experience since 2021. But nearly three years later, we’re saying, ‘okay, we’ve had enough of this, let’s get back to our place.’ I’m tired of not winning in F1 too.”
