Franco Colapinto

Franco Colapinto is an Argentine driver who made his Formula 1 debut for the Williams team during the 2024 Italian Grand Prix weekend. Colapinto’s rise through the junior categories began in 2019 when he dominated Spanish Formula 4. Progressing through Formula Renault and the Asian Le Mans Series, the Argentine reached Formula 3, where he was not a frontrunner, finishing ninth in his first season and fourth in his second. In 2024, he fared better in Formula 2, winning one race out of 20 and achieving three podium finishes. These performances caught the attention of Williams team principal James Vowles. When Logan Sargeant was sidelined after a year and a half with Williams, Franco Colapinto was named his replacement. In his debut at Monza, Colapinto impressively finished in twelfth place.
