Mercedes F1 gears up for a strong second half at Zandvoort, fueled by a streak of recent victories and improvements.
Unexpectedly, Mercedes F1 is approaching the second half of the season, consisting of 10 races, with the best recent results.
Toto Wolff, the director of the German team, is naturally hoping to confirm this momentum during the restart this weekend and, perhaps, play a pivotal role in both championships, particularly the constructors’ championship contested between Red Bull and McLaren F1.
“We are ready to resume the competition this weekend at Zandvoort. Before the summer break, we gained momentum with an improved car and better results,” said the Austrian modestly, as the W15 secured three victories in the last four races.
“We aim to continue this progress over the season’s last 10 races. We know we have ground to make up.”
“We are not yet in a position to compete for victory at every Grand Prix. However, we have made significant strides in addressing the weaknesses of the W15, and we will continue to work hard to secure more wins. If we manage this, we will close the gap with those ahead of us in both championships.”
The first of these 10 races is this weekend’s Dutch Grand Prix. Wolff makes no predictions.
“Zandvoort is a challenging circuit. With its banked corners, high-speed sections, and narrow layout, it exudes an old-school vibe. The passionate Dutch fans always create a fantastic atmosphere. It’s a great place to get back to work, and we are looking forward to tackling the challenges that lie ahead for the rest of the season.”
