Williams F1 gears up after a quiet start in Saudi Arabia, focusing on crucial qualifiers.
Williams F1 experienced a subdued first day in Saudi Arabia, finding themselves in the latter half of the pack. Alex Albon reported a positive feeling behind the wheel and hopes to fine-tune the settings of his FW46 before the qualifiers.
“The car felt good right from the moment we hit the track. We made some changes before the second practice session, most worked, some didn’t, and we need to find the right setup for tomorrow. But I’m fairly optimistic, we have a good car, it’ll be close but that’s pretty cool,” noted the Thai driver.
Albon is hopeful for a strong qualification and understands that he may need to rely on retirements to score points: “The car has a good race pace. We aim to be at the top of the midfield, around 11th place, and count on some chaos on Saturday.”
Logan Sargeant is positive about his team’s and his car’s progress this Thursday: “Things are going well for me, I’ve improved session by session and the car is getting better and better.”
“In the second practice, we figured out a few things we need to do tomorrow. It wasn’t a bad day, I don’t know where we’ll stand but we need to keep moving in the right direction and we’ll see tomorrow where we end up.”
