Jacques Villeneuve joins Button and Chadwick as Williams F1 ambassadors, celebrating legacy while supporting the team’s ambitions for future success.
Williams F1 has confirmed its ambassadors for the 2025 season. Jenson Button and Jamie Chadwick, who were already present last year, are joined by Jacques Villeneuve. The Canadian had participated in historic events with the team last year.
Villeneuve is the last driver to win a world title under the Williams banner, in 1997. Button raced for Williams at the start of his F1 career, nearly a decade before his world title with Brawn GP. Chadwick, who won all three seasons of the W Series, now advises another Williams protégé, Lia Block, in the F1 Academy.
“It’s a privilege to have Jenson, Jacques, and Jamie in the team for 2025,” said James Vowles, Williams F1’s team principal who joined in early 2023. “Together, they perfectly embody this iconic team.”
“This is about the history we’ve written, our proud tradition of investing in future champions and broadening access to motorsport, and our ambition and determination to write a new chapter.”
“Jenson and Jacques made their F1 debuts with Williams and became world champions, while Jamie has broken barriers for women in motorsport as a Williams Racing driver and mentor to Lia. We are thrilled to have them as part of the next chapter in Williams’ history.”
Jacques Villeneuve is pleased to return to the team where he made his debut in the top category: “Williams has been a crucial part of my life, filled with great memories. I’m delighted to be part of the family again and help celebrate the team’s legacy while supporting its future.”
Jenson Button remains grateful to the Grove-based team: “Williams gave me my first chance in Formula 1, and it’s incredible to celebrate the 25th anniversary of that debut this year. Being an ambassador for this team is a privilege, and I’m excited to continue contributing to its legacy and future.”
Jamie Chadwick is eager to keep dedicating her time to the team: “Williams has played a key role in my career and my journey in motorsport over the past four years. I’m proud to continue representing the team in 2025, further developing as a driver and helping mentor the next generation of racers from the F1 Academy.”
