Williams F1, led by James Vowles, anticipates a promising showing in Monaco this season, showcasing significant improvements in the team’s 2024 car dynamics and adaptability.
Monaco could be a more interesting race for Williams F1 this year, says James Vowles, the team’s director.
Williams has traditionally achieved much better results on low downforce, high-speed circuits like Monza and Spa-Francorchamps, but Vowles believes the team’s 2024 car could be strong in Monaco, the slowest track on the calendar.
“We have a car that is significantly better balanced than last year,” he explains.
“It’s also much better in various conditions—whether it’s windy, wet, dry, or transitioning conditions. There are several elements that are simply better than before.”
“I think we will do better in Miami than last year. Surprisingly, Monaco could also be a strong track for the car in the upcoming races.”
“But what you’re really seeing right now is a development race, an aerodynamic development race, among teams, and we need to make sure we are leading this race.”
