Franco Colapinto remains optimistic for 2025, trusting his team to shape his future amid ongoing uncertainty.
Franco Colapinto is thrilled to be racing on the American continent. The Williams F1 driver is looking forward to seeing more Argentine fans at the races closer to his home country, and this brings him great joy ahead of the upcoming three Grands Prix.
“Well, I’m very happy. I’m delighted to be here; my dream was to race in Argentina in Formula 1. We’re not there yet, but this is the closest we can get. I’m happy to be here—I’ve never raced in America before, and these three rounds are special to me. It’s fantastic to see the support I have here from my fans,” Colapinto said.
The Argentine remains uncertain about his future and suggests speaking to his managers and team principal, James Vowles, for further details. However, he trusts the entire team to find him a role in 2025.
“You should talk to my manager or James, as he’s spoken a lot about it! Honestly, I don’t know. I hope to do my best, to drive as fast as possible because that’s my job, and I’ll leave the rest to those managing my career.”
“There are opportunities—maybe I’ll be working in the simulator, maybe I’ll be racing back home, or perhaps I’ll be involved in Hypercar, but I’m sure there will be opportunities next year.”
Looking further ahead, Colapinto feels ready for a full-time Formula 1 seat: “I’ve worked hard to get where I am, and I’ve always believed in what I could achieve. I trusted the team, and I’m ready. After Silverstone, I knew I was prepared, and now I want to do my best.”
