Williams F1 faces setback in Miami, as Team Principal Vowles discusses the challenging race.
Williams F1 Team Principal James Vowles stated that the team’s performance at the Miami Grand Prix “stings and hurts” following their drop to ninth place in the constructors’ championship.
“With the point scored by Alpine F1, we lost a place in the championship,” Vowles observed.
“The points gap is not large, but it’s still a point in favor of Alpine and not in our favor.”
“I’m really happy for Norris. It’s an incredible victory on his part, very pleased for McLaren as well. It’s great to see the progress they’ve made. It’s also an inspiration in terms of the journey we need to undertake.”
“Days like those experienced in Miami hurt. But this pain is only useful for building and remembering the journey. This journey will not last just a year, I’ve been clear on that from the start, it’s several years.”
“But regardless, that does not lessen the pain of leaving a race with a reasonably good car without any points. It stings and hurts!”
