Horner praised Verstappen’s remarkable comeback, calling it a “masterclass” as he defied the odds to secure an impressive win.

Christian Horner praised Max Verstappen’s impressive performance in Brazil after the Red Bull driver claimed victory starting from 16th place. The team principal was full of praise for his driver.

“It was a masterclass, and I think in these conditions, the driver’s talent really shines through. Max was in a league of his own,” said the Red Bull Racing boss.

“As a team, we made all the right decisions, and the car had excellent pace. An exceptional drive. With qualifying ending in 17th place, it felt like everything was against us, but he turned it around.”

Horner didn’t hide his admiration for Verstappen: “Max has an invaluable talent. You can’t put a price on that. It was the driving of a champion. There are great drivers, but standing out and shining like that sets him apart from the current greats.”

“In the way he drove, even when we had a tough car this year, he never gave up. After his string of wins, he started collecting points, always trying to extract the maximum from the car. And finally, he’s back with the most prestigious trophy on the podium.”

With a 62-point lead, Verstappen could secure the title in Las Vegas: “It’s a big day for him in the drivers’ championship. I didn’t expect him to win; I thought if we could get close to the podium, that would be an incredible result.”

“So for him to have won this race was exceptional, absolutely. He was patient, attacked when needed, and during the restart, he was flawless against Ocon. He came from so far back. Truly, an outstanding race.”

Despite earning only one point in the race and the Sprint, Sergio Pérez received encouragement from Horner: “Checo also had a stronger weekend and faced some unfortunate moments during the race. It wasn’t the expected result, but in terms of pace, he was much more competitive in Brazil than he was at home in Mexico.”

The Briton is not ready to give up hope for the constructors’ title: “Yes! The team has shown in the past that we never give up; it’s clear both on the track and with the entire team at Milton Keynes. What a fantastic result for the team, and we’ll carry this momentum into the season’s final triple header.”
