Verstappen’s Fourth F1 Title Sparks Debate: Is It His Most Impressive?

13/01/2025

Max Verstappen’s fourth F1 title has fans and experts debating. Was this his most remarkable season in Formula 1 so far?

Many figures in the F1 paddock believe that Max Verstappen’s 4th title, won in 2024, is likely his most impressive.

The Dutchman has been widely praised for his talent, which made the difference at the wheel of a Red Bull RB20 that became increasingly less competitive and harder to drive.

The decisive margin he achieved over Sergio Perez in both qualifying and race results also highlights the effort Verstappen had to make to prevail against McLaren and Ferrari drivers in particular.

So, is his 4th title the greatest, as most agree? Verstappen responds without seeking personal glory, instead emphasizing the team spirit that helped them weather the difficult times.

“I don’t know, but yes, it does mean a lot. It certainly wasn’t the easiest. I think it was tough for everyone in the team, with many people simply under pressure.”

“We all wanted to do well, coming off a 2023 season where we essentially dominated. I didn’t expect it to be like that again, of course.”

“But at the same time, I didn’t expect it to be like the middle of this season either, with such a dry spell without winning. But I’m very proud of everyone, of how we all stayed united.”

“We didn’t panic; we kept trying to find improvements on the car and to simply understand our issues. And I think we did that very well. We can be very proud of how we handled the situation.”

“There were races where everyone was disappointed, unhappy,” Verstappen added.

“But instead of sitting around doing nothing and just being upset about the situation, everyone got to work, and that was amazing to see.”
