Max Verstappen easily secured his first career victory at the Shanghai track by winning the Chinese Grand Prix.
Max Verstappen claimed the 58th Grand Prix win of his Formula 1 career, and the fourth of the 2024 F1 season, by dominating at the Shanghai circuit in China this Sunday.
Starting from pole position, the Dutch driver was never threatened for the lead, piloting his unbeatable Red Bull to the finish line with a margin of about ten seconds ahead of Lando Norris.
Verstappen’s lead could have been even greater had the Chinese Grand Prix not been neutralized twice by a safety car.
Sergio Pérez finished third, completing the podium for this fifth event of the season, ahead of the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. George Russell secured sixth place.
Fernando Alonso took seventh, followed by Oscar Piastri, Lewis Hamilton, and Nico Hülkenberg rounding out the top 10 of this Chinese Grand Prix.
The next Formula 1 Grand Prix will take place in two weeks in Miami, again in sprint mode.
