Verstappen Unfazed by Red Bull’s Internal Turmoil

28/02/2024

Amidst Red Bull Racing’s ongoing investigation into Christian Horner, Max Verstappen remains focused and undeterred as he gears up for the 2024 F1 season.

The turmoil at Red Bull Racing, stemming from an investigation into team principal Christian Horner for alleged inappropriate behavior, has not impacted Max Verstappen’s preparation for the upcoming 2024 F1 season.

The three-time World Champion from Red Bull stated this today during the FIA press conference for the season-opening race in Bahrain, as there remains no decision announced by Red Bull.

One thing is for sure, Horner will be present in the Bahrain paddock by this evening, having flown from Austria with Dr. Helmut Marko.

“I’m extremely focused on myself and the car,” Verstappen said regarding the ongoing investigation.

“As I mentioned during last week’s testing, I hope this issue will be resolved very quickly. I trust the process. It hasn’t affected me. It’s important that we stay united as a team. At Red Bull, we work as a team towards new successes.”

Verstappen also mentioned he is entering his tenth Formula 1 season with confidence.

“We had good testing sessions. We were able to complete many laps, finish the entire program, and I feel comfortable in the car. The package looks promising.”

Regarding the competition, Verstappen smiles: “I don’t know if the others will be fast enough to compete with us, but I also don’t know if we will be fast enough. Time will tell.”

“Bahrain is a unique track. There are many different tracks on the calendar where you need to perform. Generally, it’s better not to think about it. Then you arrive at the track, you see the result, whether it’s good or bad, it won’t change anything, so that’s how I approach things. We’ll see.”
