Russell, Hamilton, Sainz Laud Verstappen’s 2024 Dominance

Russell, Hamilton, and Sainz hail Verstappen as ‘outstanding’ this season

Top F1 stars commend Max Verstappen’s dominance after his expertly managed highs and lows secured a stellar fourth championship.

Max Verstappen missed the podium in Las Vegas but still secured his fourth consecutive title, earning a special post-race press conference.

During the top-3 press conference, George Russell, Lewis Hamilton, and Carlos Sainz praised the Red Bull driver’s achievement.

“Exceptional,” said race winner Russell.

“He had a dominant car early in the year and capitalized when it mattered, then likely thought he wouldn’t win the championship. Yet he kept delivering week after week, maximizing the car’s potential compared to his rivals. I thought it might go down to the wire, but he won his battles with Lando Norris in the end. Congratulations to him. We just need to ensure we’re in that fight come 2025 and push him harder. It’s time for us to rise to the challenge.”

His teammate, Lewis Hamilton, runner-up in Las Vegas, hailed “a fantastic job from Max.”

“He made no mistakes and consistently met expectations. He and his team delivered the best performance once again, for the fourth consecutive year. It became really exciting at one point against Lando.”

“I think they’ll be tough to beat next year since they’ve likely started working on next year’s car earlier than everyone else. But yes, I’m genuinely happy for him.”

Sainz, who finished third, added: “Congratulations to him.”

“He’s been driving at an incredibly high level for four years now. This year, he dominated whenever he had a strong car, avoided mistakes, maximized points with a less competitive car, and did exactly what he needed to in every race. So yes, congratulations, because he clearly deserves it.”
