Ferrari Set to Extend Winning Streak in Baku

12/09/2024

Ferrari is poised to build on its recent success, with team boss Vasseur eyeing a win at the upcoming Baku race.

Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur stated he is determined to maintain his team’s winning form in the upcoming race following their home victory in Italy.

F1 heads to the Baku circuit for the 17th round of the season, hosting the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

The Italian team secured a notable victory on its home soil last time, with Charles Leclerc implementing a single-stop strategy to beat McLaren.

This marked Ferrari’s third win of the season, and Vasseur hopes to add to this tally at the next event in Azerbaijan.

“The urban circuit of Baku features a combination of very fast sections and extremely twisty segments, presenting a unique set of challenges.”

“In the past, we have generally been quite competitive here and it’s also one of Charles’s favorites.”

“We are in form following the victory at Monza and are determined to maintain this form.”

Ferrari is currently 40 points behind Red Bull in the constructors’ championship fight, with the reigning champions showing a dip in form recently.

Vasseur anticipates another tight battle in Baku but asserts that Ferrari can draw inspiration from its execution in Italy to continue its good streak.

“Once again, we can expect to see a very tight fight among the top four teams.”

“I often say that we focus on ourselves and it is clear that this is the right approach, as we have seen a radical shift in the team hierarchy since the beginning of the season.”

“Our victory in Italy also confirms my view that how we manage the weekend from Friday to Sunday can play as significant a role as the actual performance level of the car.”

“With Charles and Carlos, we will once again aim to do everything perfectly in Baku, to try to bring back another very good result for the team.”
