Unpredictable Monaco Gasly’s Alpine Challenge

Gasly Awaits Monaco Magic and Surprises

23/05/2024

Pierre Gasly anticipates a challenging weekend in Monaco, hoping for opportunities and the unique “magic” the iconic circuit often provides, despite unpredictable weather conditions.

Pierre Gasly is thrilled to be racing in Monaco this weekend. The Alpine F1 driver joins his peers in highlighting that no other circuit presents a challenge quite like the Principality. However, he anticipates potential complications with the weather.

“It’s an iconic place, and it’s a unique feeling to come here to Monaco each year, knowing we’ll be driving on these streets with the fastest and coolest cars in the world. The weather always surprises us; it’s pouring rain now, but anything can happen, and sometimes Monaco offers its magic,” Gasly stated.

Nonetheless, the Frenchman is cautious about making predictions for the upcoming weekend: “After seven years in F1, I’ve learned that in Monaco, you can’t predict anything. You have to wait and see if the car works. It’s set up differently from other circuits, and we’ve never tested it with these settings.”

“Potentially, it will make it come alive, or it could be the opposite, so I want to see how it feels in free practice tomorrow. I had a good feeling in Imola with the changes we made, and I hope to have the same here. Everything will come down to Saturday, and I hope we can create some magic and put in a great lap.”
