Tsunoda Clinches 10th at Suzuka: A Heroic Drive

In an inspiring Suzuka showdown, Yuki Tsunoda overcame early setbacks to finish 10th at the Japanese Grand Prix, credited to a strategic pit stop.

Yuki Tsunoda delivered an excellent performance at Suzuka, finishing tenth in the Japanese Grand Prix and scoring a point in front of his home fans. The RB F1 driver lost positions at the first start but recovered, with the pivotal moment being the second pit stop, where his team gained him three places.

“It’s very special; this tenth place feels like a first place. Kudos to the team for a fantastic pit stop that allowed me to emerge ahead, enabling us to score a point. Hats off to the team and thanks to the fans for their immense energy, creating a special vibe on every lap,” Tsunoda stated.

“We faced challenges at the first start, being on mediums while the two cars behind us overtook.”

“They were on soft tires, and I was disappointed, but I regained those positions at the second start. After that, the pace was strong, I lost positions at the first stop but post that, my pace was solid, and my team did a superhero’s job during the stop, leaving me overjoyed.”

The Japanese driver made several outside overtakes in the Esses, explaining why it was the easiest option for him: “Knowing our straight-line speed wasn’t very good and we were better in the first sector, I had good confidence and managed to overtake on the outside, which was great.”
