Aston Martin to Offload F1 Stake, Brand Stays on Grid

Aston Martin sells its F1 stake but remains on the grid, as Lawrence Stroll injects fresh funds to strengthen the brand’s future.

Aston Martin has announced plans to sell its €89 million minority stake in the Aston Martin Formula 1 team, marking a strategic separation between the carmaker and the racing outfit.

Despite stepping back from team ownership, the British luxury brand reassured fans and investors that its long-term title sponsorship deal remains untouched. The iconic Aston Martin badge will continue to be seen on the F1 grid for years to come.

This move follows a fresh €63 million capital injection into the company by Chairman Lawrence Stroll, aimed at boosting liquidity and supporting the brand’s financial recovery.

Stroll Reinforces Aston Martin Commitment

“I’m proud to reaffirm my full support and long-term commitment to Aston Martin,” said Stroll. “Since 2020, my partners in the Yew Tree Consortium and I have invested around €720 million into the company.”

“This latest investment reflects my deep belief in the strength of the brand and my goal to give Aston Martin the strongest foundation for long-term value creation. The premium share offering also helps limit shareholder dilution – something I hope provides added confidence.”

The sale of Aston Martin’s F1 stake is expected to generate significant new capital. Stroll noted that both the team shares and the new investment are priced above market and book value, together unlocking more than €150 million in fresh funds for the company.

Importantly, the partnership between Aston Martin and the F1 team isn’t ending. Their collaboration will continue under a reinforced sponsorship agreement, keeping the brand firmly rooted in elite motorsport.

“Aston Martin will remain a prominent presence in Formula 1 for many years,” Stroll confirmed.
