Despite improved potential at Monza, Stake F1’s Bottas and Zhou still struggle for points.
Stake F1 did not have an easy weekend at Monza. Team director Alessandro Alunni Bravi stated that the potential was better than in previous races for the Hinwil outfit.
“We observed some positive signs in the team’s performance, though the finishing positions on paper do not appear much different from previous races,” said Alunni Bravi, who acknowledged that the race for points is still far off.
“Our two drivers managed their hard and medium tires well, which allowed us to follow the race strategy we had planned before the race, with controlled degradation.”
“Of course, it is still not enough to compete for points, as we lack overall pace: but the low-drag package we brought to Monza and the setup changes we made for qualifying have improved the car’s balance and given Valtteri and Guanyu a chance to fight.”
“We still have a long way to go to be in the battle for points, but it is important to recognize that at Monza the gap to our direct competitors was reduced – this is a positive sign that we must highlight.”
