Spa Showdown McLaren's Bid for Season-End Points

McLaren Targets Major Points Haul at Spa Finale

24/07/2024

McLaren F1 sets sights on a hefty points score at Spa, aiming to cap off the season’s first half triumphantly.

Lando Norris is looking to bounce back after the Hungarian Grand Prix, hoping for a strong result at Spa-Francorchamps this weekend during the Belgian Grand Prix. The McLaren F1 driver relishes the challenges presented by the renowned circuit.

“Spa is the next circuit, and it’s another special one for me,” Norris stated. “It’s probably one of my favorite tracks, and I know I’m not the only driver who enjoys racing there. It’s a challenging circuit, and the weather can be unpredictable, but that’s nothing we haven’t seen before.”

“I can’t believe we’re almost at the summer break. Last weekend was incredible for the team. The car was excellent, and it’s a strong position to close out the first part of the season. I’m eager to get back in the car and hope to bring in another good haul of points for the team.”

Oscar Piastri is pleased to arrive as the most recent winner in Belgium. The Australian driver acknowledges that the race in Hungary was exceptional for him, and he hopes to achieve another good result for McLaren.

“I had an incredible day winning my first Formula 1 race, and I want to thank everyone for their support and kind messages. It was a great weekend for the whole team, but we are now focusing on the last race before the summer break.”

“The Spa-Francorchamps circuit is my favorite track, so I’m looking forward to returning to Belgium. It’s always hard to predict what it will be for us, but we’re in a good position and hoping to leave with good points. The first half of the season has been excellent, and we will continue our momentum this weekend.”

Andrea Stella, the team director, recognizes the importance of not resting on laurels: “After a very good weekend in Hungary, we are already fully focused on the next challenge in Belgium.”

“The Spa-Francorchamps circuit is one of the drivers’ favorites, but also the longest and one of the most challenging on the calendar. The changing weather conditions add a level of uncertainty, but we take each challenge as an opportunity.”

“As we approach the end of a very busy race period, we push one last time and look to maximize our opportunities to score points before a well-deserved summer break.”
