Sauber F1 brings a fresh look to Miami, with Hülkenberg eager to tackle the high-pressure Sprint weekend and make crucial progress.
This weekend, Sauber F1 will sport a special livery in Miami, showcasing the team’s fun and vibrant side as they take on the Florida circuit. On track, Nico Hülkenberg is excited about the Miami Grand Prix and the Sprint format, eager to make the most of the weekend’s challenges.
“It’s always a pleasure to return to Miami – I’ve really enjoyed racing here in recent years,” Hülkenberg shared.
“There’s a unique atmosphere around the event, which makes it even more thrilling. I enjoy the rhythm of the circuit, and Sprint weekends are always intense. There’s no downtime; after just one practice session, you go straight into qualifying. So, it’s crucial to have the car in a good position from the start.”
Gabriel Bortoleto, like many drivers, will be discovering the Miami Autodrome for the first time.
“Miami is a track I’ve never raced on, and I’m really looking forward to experiencing it. The event always looks impressive on TV, and I’m excited to see it in person,” he said.
“I’ve spent some time in the simulator after Jeddah to get a better understanding of the track, and now I can’t wait to drive it for real. There’s still a lot to learn this weekend – this is only my second Sprint, but I feel well-prepared and focused to make the most of it.”
Team Principal Jonathan Wheatley explains that the Sprint format adds an extra layer of complexity, making every decision even more critical.
“Sprint weekends always bring an added level of complexity, but they also offer valuable opportunities. With just one practice session before qualifying, there’s no room for mistakes, so preparation is key,” he said.
“The team has been working hard behind the scenes, and now we need to deliver when it matters. Miami will be a tough challenge, but if we approach it with confidence and precision, we can make significant progress. There’s still a lot to learn with the C45, and we’re heading into this weekend with focus and determination.”
