Sainz voices dissatisfaction with seventh grid position, believing a better outcome was possible.
Carlos Sainz is convinced he could have performed better than his eighth-place qualifying time, which will place him seventh on the grid at Spa. The Ferrari driver laments not maximizing his final lap in the last segment of qualifying.
“I cannot be satisfied with today’s result, as I was fast throughout the session and didn’t extract the maximum from the last set of tyres in Q3,” the Spanish driver stated after the session.
“From the first corner, I felt I didn’t have the same grip as in the previous runs, and the entire lap was challenging. I need to understand what I did differently to have so little grip,” he continued.
However, Sainz remains optimistic about his potential in the race: “Tomorrow’s race is open, and the aim will be to gain positions and fight at the front. It’s hard to predict the race conditions, but I’m confident there will be opportunities.”
