Carlos Sainz gains momentum with Williams after a strong Saudi GP, ready to deliver again despite the challenges of Miami’s Sprint.
Carlos Sainz is growing more comfortable with his new surroundings and believes he’s finding his rhythm at Williams.
After a solid showing at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, which included a Q3 appearance and a top-10 finish, the Spanish driver arrives in Miami with renewed confidence and momentum.
“Saudi Arabia felt like the first weekend where everything finally came together,” Sainz said.
“Over the first four races, I’d shown flashes of speed and progress with the team, but I hadn’t been able to put together a full weekend until then.”
While he and teammate Alex Albon only brought home a combined six points, Sainz sees the bigger picture.
“It’s a bit frustrating that none of the top seven drivers made mistakes that weekend, which limited our chances. Still, we scored four points plus two from Alex. There will be more opportunities.”
Heading into the Miami Grand Prix, which features a Sprint format, Sainz remains optimistic about his pace, despite acknowledging the added challenge.
“Sprints aren’t ideal when you’re still settling in with a new team. But I’ve been quick straight out of the garage in the last few races, and I’m aiming to do the same here.”
