Williams F1 confirms early FW47 updates, incorporating crucial feedback from Carlos Sainz after his post-season test debut in Abu Dhabi.

Williams F1 boss James Vowles revealed that Carlos Sainz has already influenced the design of the 2025 car, the FW47, which will be unveiled this Friday, February 14, at Silverstone around 10 a.m. (French time) before its shakedown with a unique and special livery to date.

Sainz drove for his new team for the first time during last year’s post-season test in Abu Dhabi after being released by Ferrari.

He also recently took part in a test with an older F1 car in Barcelona.

“First of all, he is someone with the utmost professionalism who joined the team. From the start, everything was clear, concise, and instructions were direct, so nothing was left to chance.”

“In Abu Dhabi, he was very focused on using the data to make decisions. He made a few changes during the day, and the lap times spoke for themselves.”

“We weren’t aiming for lap times, but he felt comfortable in the car right away.”

“His feedback has already been incorporated into this year’s car, which is normally not possible, with certain elements he identified that have helped us.”
