Mercedes F1 secured a commanding one-two in Las Vegas, with Russell and Hamilton showcasing dominance to leave rivals behind.
Toto Wolff praised Mercedes F1’s double victory in Las Vegas after a race won by George Russell ahead of Lewis Hamilton. The Brackley team principal expressed his satisfaction with the dominant performance of his drivers.
“It’s good to come back with a one-two, and I’m happy with how we achieved it because we dominated the race. There were laps where we were two seconds faster, and that feels great,” Wolff told Canal+, while also addressing the criticism of Hamilton after Brazil.
“I think those who criticized Lewis saw that he has both the speed and the maturity. Even after a less strong qualifying session, he managed to fight back to the podium.”
The Austrian also acknowledged Max Verstappen’s title win: “He is very strong and deserves the championship. He’s a great champion, securing the title early in the year and managing it well.”

Mercedes’ dominant one-two finish in Las Vegas underscores the team’s resilience and strategic excellence. Toto Wolff’s praise highlights the outstanding synergy between George Russell and Lewis Hamilton, silencing critics while reaffirming Hamilton’s skill and maturity. Acknowledging Verstappen’s championship win, Mercedes sends a clear message: they remain a formidable force in Formula 1.
