George Russell hails Bono’s promotion, a significant boon for Mercedes’ strategy.
During the summer break, Mercedes F1 saw backstage changes, notably with Peter Bonnington’s confirmed arrival as the director of race engineering. Bonnington is notably Lewis Hamilton’s track engineer.
How does George Russell respond to this news?
“It’s clear that Bono has been a pivotal part of the team’s success for many years, and even before the Mercedes era at Brawn GP as well,” Russell noted.
“And you know, it’s fantastic news that he’s staying with us next year.”
“Obviously, there are a lot of rumors and speculation about the possibility of him moving with Lewis to Ferrari, but for me, having Bono promoted is a real advantage.”
“It’s almost like having an extra set of eyes on the work we’re doing, and I think it will further strengthen our team.”
