Max Verstappen secured P3 in Australian GP qualifying, proving Red Bull’s strength despite struggles. The Dutchman remains confident ahead of race day.

Verstappen had a solid Saturday in Australia, securing third place in qualifying—a result that surely brings some relief.

The RB21 has been a tricky car to handle, but in Verstappen’s hands, it was the second-best on the grid today, finishing just three-tenths behind the McLarens.

After the session, the Red Bull driver seemed content with his performance:

“It was good. Yesterday was quite tough, so honestly, getting P3 today—I’ll take it!”

“Qualifying laps here are exciting. There’s a lot of grip, fast corners—it’s always fun.”

Despite some struggles with tire management, Verstappen acknowledged that the gap to McLaren was too big to change the final outcome:

“We never really felt like we had the tires fully under control, but with the gap to McLaren, it wouldn’t have made much of a difference.”

And what about tomorrow’s race? Could rain shake things up?

“For me, wet or dry—it doesn’t matter. In the wet, crazy things can happen, and here it gets pretty slippery. But hey, it’s the same for everyone.”

Game on for race day!
