The 2025 F1 season promises fierce competition as Marko foresees tighter gaps, urging Red Bull to tackle key technical challenges.
In terms of competitiveness, the 2024 season will set the standard.
Formula 1 teams were much closer to each other than the previous year, when Max Verstappen dominated.
In 2025, Dr. Helmut Marko expects the gaps to narrow further. The advisor emphasizes that Red Bull Racing must work hard over the winter.
“If our competitors maintain this form next year and we don’t improve, it will be even more exciting than this year. But that’s the beauty of the sport. We don’t start from scratch since the regulations are stable,” Marko explains.
“But our weaknesses remain the same. We arrive at the track, and all the simulations and wind tunnel results don’t align with reality.”
“The car operates in a much too narrow working window of what functions. Our technical team has a lot to do for the RB21.”
“In any case, the gaps are getting smaller and smaller. McLaren is steady with its driver pairing, but of course, Ferrari will be interesting. We have to wait and see what happens with Ferrari. Antonelli in the Mercedes won’t make things easy either. But I see an advantage in having Max as a clear number one.”
