Red Bull Racing is paying tribute to its iconic partnership with Honda at the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix — and they’re doing it in style.
To honor Honda’s final season with the team, Red Bull will run a striking new livery at Suzuka, inspired by the legendary Honda RA272 — the car that gave the brand its first-ever Formula 1 victory back in 1965.
Both RB21 cars will feature a bold white-and-red design, echoing the colors of the Japanese flag. The special livery commemorates the 60th anniversary of Honda’s breakthrough win at the 1965 Mexican Grand Prix, where American driver Richie Ginther piloted the No. 11 RA272 to glory.
Key design elements include the classic “H” logo on the nose and a vintage Honda emblem on the rear bodywork. A custom 60th anniversary badge will also appear on all four Red Bull cars competing this weekend, marking a historic chapter in F1.
This isn’t the first time Red Bull has gone white for Honda — fans may recall the much-loved white livery run at the 2021 Turkish GP, where the team landed a double podium. That throwback look became an instant favorite among F1 followers.
Team Principal and CEO Christian Horner reflected on the moment:
“Our partnership with Honda has been nothing short of extraordinary. It brought us one of the most dominant eras in our history — four world titles for Max, two constructors’ championships, and unmatched reliability that helped deliver the most successful season in F1 history in 2023. This livery is a celebration of that legacy and a fitting tribute to a relationship we’ll always be proud of.”
Koji Watanabe, President of Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), shared his thoughts:
“Seeing the spirit of the RA272 come alive on today’s Red Bull car is incredibly emotional. This final season marks the end of a historic partnership, but our shared legacy in Formula 1 will continue to shine.”
As Red Bull prepares to race in Honda’s backyard, fans can expect a weekend full of nostalgia, emotion, and world-class racing — with a beautiful new look to match.
