Pérez criticises Red Bull’s strategy after a race that left him stranded from the onset.
Sergio Pérez was dissatisfied with his tenth-place finish in Singapore. The Red Bull driver had started 13th and gained three places at the outset. He believes he could have done better with a more effective strategy from his team, citing Carlos Sainz as an example.
“In a way, yes, but the strategy probably also cost us a chance to progress and undercut several people, especially when you see where Carlos finished,” Pérez stated.
His first stint involved being stuck behind Franco Colapinto, and the second behind Nico Hülkenberg, who held him up until the finish. The Mexican was disheartened by the inability to overtake.
“It was a complete disaster. We had a good first lap, I moved up to tenth place, and that’s where we finished. So it’s really a shame, considering that.”
