Yuki Tsunoda’s childhood dream becomes reality as he joins Red Bull Racing—just in time to race in front of his home crowd.
Yuki Tsunoda didn’t appear in any of Red Bull’s official press releases yesterday—neither from Red Bull Racing nor Racing Bulls. But that didn’t stop him from sharing his excitement online.
Starting next week, Tsunoda will officially join Red Bull Racing at his home Grand Prix in Japan. While preparing for the big move at the team’s base in Milton Keynes, the 23-year-old—Verstappen’s fifth teammate since 2018—took to social media to express his gratitude.
“Hey everyone! I just want to say a big thank you to the team and all the amazing Racing Bulls fans for the incredible memories,” Tsunoda said in a message shared by his former team.
“I’m still part of the Red Bull family, so I won’t be far. See you all around the paddock!”
In a separate video, this time wearing his new Red Bull Racing gear, he added:
“I’m really looking forward to racing my home Grand Prix with Red Bull.”
