In the Miami Sprint, Oscar Piastri’s strategic play against Carlos Sainz maintained his sixth-place starting position.

Oscar Piastri maintained his sixth position from qualifying during the Miami Sprint. The McLaren F1 driver tried to pressure Carlos Sainz by keeping him in the wake of Daniel Ricciardo, who was the slowest in the leading group.

By doing so, Piastri hoped that the Ferrari driver might wear out his tires more, thereby losing pace, especially since Ricciardo defended well. However, the trio maintained their order throughout the race, and he was unable to gain any positions.

“We made sure Carlos was stuck behind Daniel, who did a great job defending. There’s not much more to say, I had the pace but couldn’t use it to move up,” stated the Australian driver.
