Oscar Piastri heads into the Miami Grand Prix aiming for victory, despite uncertainty about which teams will challenge McLaren’s strong performance.
McLaren F1 driver Oscar Piastri remains focused as he heads into the Miami Grand Prix, continuing the same strategy that’s taken him to the top of the championship standings since Jeddah.
He expects to be among the front-runners again, but he’s uncertain about which teams will be closest to McLaren this time.
“My approach is exactly the same: aiming to win the race. There’s no change. I hope we’re competitive here. We’ve had a strong car all season, but with the temperatures, it will be interesting to see how they affect the different teams. It’s hard to predict who our main rivals will be, but we should be in a good position,” Piastri commented.
The Australian enjoys the Miami Grand Prix, particularly the unique atmosphere of the event. He shared what makes this race stand out from the others on the calendar.
“I think it’s special. The venue itself is unique, racing around a stadium—there’s nowhere else in the world like it. And then there’s Miami, a world-renowned city, not just for sports, but for its culture and lifestyle. It’s great to have a race here. There are big names, tons of fans—it just feels different, it’s really special.”
