Sergio Pérez’s father remains optimistic, promising a historic F1 comeback and affirming the family’s unwavering commitment to motorsport.
Sergio Pérez’s father has stated that his son will not give up on Formula 1 and that a “historic” return could be possible—nothing less.
The Mexican politician made these comments 24 hours after his son gave his first public statements following his departure from Red Bull (read here).
While “Checo” has said he will decide on his career’s future within the next six months, his father has once again delivered somewhat awkward, if not exaggerated, declarations.
“The best version of Checo Pérez is yet to come. Everyone will be very happy and proud,” Pérez Sr. told SoyMotor.
“What Checo Pérez is doing, what’s coming, will be historic, I assure you.”
“It will be wonderful. He is the most well-known Latin American in the world today, ahead of footballers and media figures.”
“Great things are coming for the Pérez family. The only thing I can tell you is that the Pérez family has not given up on Formula 1.”
“We owe a lot to Red Bull. The best years of Checo Pérez’s sporting career were with Red Bull. This shouldn’t be seen as a rivalry; it’s the world of motorsport.”
“We need to understand one thing to make this clear: Formula 1 has only 20 seats, and we are more than 7 billion people. Everyone is fighting for a seat in F1.”
