Sergio Pérez claims a solid result in the Sprint, highlighting his pace and competitiveness as Red Bull targets a strong weekend finish.
Starting thirteenth in the Brazilian F1 Sprint, Sergio Pérez climbed to eighth place, securing a point. The Red Bull driver was reasonably satisfied with this 100-kilometre race, following yet another disappointment the previous day.
“That was the maximum we could do. Unfortunately, with the safety car at the end of the race, we couldn’t manage to catch Gasly,” said the Mexican driver after the Sprint.
Pérez, however, defended his performance over the weekend despite his poor Sprint qualifying result. He insisted that both he and his RB20 are competitive and will remain so until the weekend concludes.
“Overall, I think we have good pace. We’ve had strong pace throughout the weekend, so it’s about piecing everything together in qualifying, and we’ll be strong.”
