Haas F1 fires up its VF-25 for the first time at Silverstone, with Esteban Ocon behind the wheel for the initial shakedown.
It was announced shortly after mid-January, and the promise has been kept: the Haas F1 VF-25 is ready for its first shakedown today at Silverstone.
The American team has been spotted at the circuit, but today’s testing is expected to take place behind closed doors, unlike Williams’ approach on Friday.
Haas F1 has not yet provided details on the day’s proceedings: is it running with a special livery to release photos and information later? Or is it already sporting its final livery? In the latter case, nothing must leak before the F1 75 show on Tuesday evening in London. More updates to come during the day.
What is confirmed is that Esteban Ocon is handling this first run, limited to a maximum of 200 kilometers. The second will take place at the Sakhir circuit in just over a week, with Oliver Bearman at the wheel, just ahead of the official winter testing.
As we reported yesterday, Racing Bulls’ shakedown at Imola has been postponed by two days for confidentiality reasons, as the VCARB02 is set to run with its final livery (read more here).
Finally, rumors suggest that Sauber may be in Barcelona for a shakedown of the new C45 today or tomorrow. This information remains unconfirmed. The team has yet to announce any presentation or shakedown plans, much like Alpine F1.
