Esteban Ocon sets his sights on 2025 with Haas F1, embracing the challenges and aligning with team goals.
Esteban Ocon has officially been announced as a Haas F1 driver for 2025 and beyond, having signed a multi-year contract with the American team. In Belgium, the French driver shared his expectations and hopes.
“I’m really looking forward to it, it’s great to finally be able to talk about it. An exciting challenge lies ahead, the team has been on a truly upward trajectory and wants to continue,” Ocon stated this Thursday, acknowledging that Ayao Komatsu’s leadership was a deciding factor.
“I also have a long history with Ayao, he was my first race engineer in Formula 1, ten years ago. He convinced me with his plan, with the direction they want to take. I share the same objective as the team and it’s fantastic to finally join forces.”
He is pleased to join a progressing team and to partner with a promising rookie, Ollie Bearman: “These are competitors who want to progress, step by step. They have significant plans to achieve this, and to enhance their standing.”
“And they are already doing it now, so it’s exciting and a new challenge for me. And I will be racing with Ollie too, who is a young driver and seen by some as a future champion, I’m eager to team up with him and push the team forward.”
