Esteban Ocon’s leadership and expertise make him a key asset for Haas, while Oliver Bearman benefits from his experience and precise work ethic.
Ayao Komatsu is convinced that Esteban Ocon is the leader Haas F1 needed. The director of the American team praises the Frenchman’s precise work, as well as the direct and indirect support he provides to his new teammate, Oliver Bearman.
“Yes, it’s very good, very good,” said Komatsu. “Esteban is exactly what we expected from him. He is very determined, motivated, detail-oriented, and works very hard with the engineers.”
“He is very, very easy to work with and very precise. He is very, very easy to work with and very precise. He is also very good at tire management, with great experience. So it’s a good thing that he is, in a way, the benchmark for Ollie in this regard.”
“Even during the qualifying simulation, you saw how strong Ollie was in qualifying last year, but even then, with the new car, adapting to it, etc., it’s really great to have someone like Esteban to set the reference.”
The Japanese engineer also praised Bearman’s adaptability and the work done with him: “Again, it’s very pleasant to work with Ollie. He’s a positive guy and, again, a hard worker, very, very open.”
Regarding his French teammate, Bearman said: “It’s great to get to know him. He obviously has a lot of F1 experience that I can draw from, so I’m looking forward to starting our season together.”
