McLaren F1 Drivers ‘In Form’ Ahead of Season Resumption

21/08/2024

As Formula 1 resumes, McLaren drivers express their readiness and enthusiasm for the Dutch Grand Prix.

Lando Norris is eagerly anticipating his return to the Netherlands for the Formula 1 restart following a summer break that allowed him to recharge. The McLaren F1 driver praises Zandvoort as a circuit he truly enjoys.

“We’re back! I had a great time during the summer holidays. It’s always good to take a break and focus on spending time with family and friends,” Norris stated.

“I feel refreshed and ready for the last ten races of the year. I’m looking forward to the Dutch Grand Prix. It’s a great race to kick off the second half of the season.”

“There are always a lot of fans in the crowd, creating a fantastic atmosphere. It’s also a delightful circuit to drive. I hope we can pick up where we left off and continue to fight for victories and podiums.”

Oscar Piastri is also in fine form after the break, hoping to build on his momentum, having finished second in Belgium and won at the Hungaroring: “I’m excited to get back on track. It was good to take a break and relax.”

“But now I’m ready to get back to work and tackle the second half of the season. I was very pleased with my driving before the break and it was great to secure a win in Hungary and a second place at Spa.”

“I’m eager to get behind the wheel at Zandvoort, as it’s always a great racing weekend, especially with challenging features like steep inclines. I’ll be working hard to continue improving my position in the championship.”

Andrea Stella, the director at McLaren, outlines how the team will strive to chase the constructors’ title, while the drivers’ championship will be tougher to clinch: “After a two-week shutdown, we resume racing with renewed energy.”

“The Dutch fans always create a fantastic atmosphere, which we look forward to experiencing again. Zandvoort is a short, technical circuit that poses a very different challenge from Spa or Monza.”

“This weekend marks the start of a very busy period, with four races in five weeks. To maximize the opportunities available to us, we need to demonstrate resilience, focus, and work closely within the team to achieve peak performances.”
