Former Haas driver Kevin Magnussen dismisses all speculation about a return to Formula 1, confirming his full commitment to endurance racing.
Kevin Magnussen has officially closed the Formula 1 chapter of his career. The former Haas F1 driver has no intention of remaining involved with the American team, despite the interest expressed by team principal Ayao Komatsu.
Haas wanted to keep him, but he declined
Following his departure in 2023, Haas had hoped to maintain ties with the Danish driver. Komatsu had mentioned potential roles as a consultant, ambassador, or test driver for the simulator and former F1 cars. However, that possibility now seems entirely off the table.
A new focus on endurance racing
At 32 years old, Magnussen has moved on and found success in endurance racing, competing as a factory driver for BMW. When asked about a potential return to F1, he was clear:
“I knew I wasn’t really motivated to continue in F1.”
During the Sebring race, he confirmed his stance:
“I have no desire to return to F1 or be associated with a team.”
A future away from the F1 paddock
As for the speculation about a role at Haas, he remains indifferent:
“That’s normal in this industry, but I am very happy here.”
Magnussen embraces this new golden era of endurance racing, far from the demands of Formula 1. One thing is certain: he is not coming back.
