No Changes: Ferrari Dismisses Flexible Wing Adjustments

Ferrari maintains its development path, dismissing concerns over flexible wings amid ongoing scrutiny from rival teams and the FIA.

Ferrari’s senior performance engineer, Jock Clear, clarified that the Scuderia has not made significant changes following the flexible wings controversy. The Maranello-based team has focused primarily on its new components, and no issues have arisen.

“We don’t know what the other teams are doing,” Clear stated. “We only know what we are doing with our car. We interpret the regulations in the way we believe is correct, and the FIA has never questioned our interpretation of the rules.”

“We continue to develop as much as we can and as quickly as we can within the framework of the rules. We haven’t changed anything. When it comes to what others are doing, we can only speculate about what is truly happening. We cannot conduct physical tests.”

“We have only been able to work on our own car, and we have been comfortable with its development, practically since Austria. Since the summer break, we have a clear direction for both development and setup.”

Clear praised Ferrari’s progress from Austria, where the SF-24 had struggled, to their double podium in Austin: “I think we made mistakes in Austria, which is quite similar to Austin, which is rather amusing.”

“It’s not entirely true, but the aspects of Austin that worked for us were the result of what we failed to achieve in Austria. In reality, the package was very similar. Naturally, we made improvements in Singapore, and we introduced general enhancements in Italy.”

“I believe Austin demonstrated the effectiveness of this series of measures. But more importantly, what we did right in Austin was to correct the mistakes we made in Austria in terms of setup.”
