New Wing, New Hope: Ferrari Bets Big on Spain

Charles Leclerc hopes a major upgrade at Barcelona can reignite Ferrari’s season and close the gap to the leading teams.

Charles Leclerc is hoping the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix will mark a crucial shift in Ferrari’s season. With just one podium in the first five races, the Monegasque driver admits the Scuderia has work to do.

“We’re clearly behind in terms of raw performance,” Leclerc said. “Red Bull and McLaren are ahead, and honestly, Mercedes probably is too. But over the last few weekends, I’ve felt more and more comfortable with the car — more than ever, really.”

Ferrari plans to bring a brand-new front wing to Barcelona, a key upgrade that Leclerc believes could help close the gap.

“We’re getting everything we can out of the current car — now we just need a better one. I really believe Spain could be the turning point of our season,” he added. “That new front wing could help tip things in our favor.”

Despite finishing third in Jeddah earlier in the season, Leclerc felt there was nothing more he could have done.

“Honestly, it was a perfect race from our side. Every lap was strong, no mistakes, and the strategy was spot on,” he said. “We don’t talk much about pit stops unless something goes wrong, but our mechanics have been outstanding. They’ve been the best in the pit lane since the start of the season — and that’s down to their hard work.”

“In the end, we did everything right in Jeddah. Third was the best we could have done.”
