Jacques Villeneuve hints at increasing Sky F1 appearances in 2025, signaling potential changes after years with Canal+.
Jacques Villeneuve stated that he had an “absolute pleasure” working with Sky F1 in 2024 and added that he would be “happy to do more” appearances in the future.
The 1997 World Champion has worked in Formula 1 media for over a decade, joining the Sky F1 team for the first time at the Canadian Grand Prix in June, followed by another appearance in Azerbaijan in September.
Villeneuve is known for his candid opinions on Formula 1, making him a valued asset for broadcasters. Having been a long-time consultant for the French channel Canal+, he has also worked with Sky Italia in recent years and now contributes in English with the Sky F1 team in the UK.
“I’ve been enjoying doing television for over 10 years with Canal Plus. I’ve worked with Sky Italia, and in 2024, I worked with Sky UK. I had a blast! It was so much fun, such a big group, but a really good group.”
“I was surprised by how open the discussions were. Whether you agreed or not in the conversations, it made you think. As for next year, of course, I’d be happy to do more with them.”
Villeneuve’s former Williams teammate Damon Hill confirmed he would be leaving the channel at the end of the 2024 season, after joining Sky in 2012.
“It’s been 13 fantastic years with Sky Sports F1, but all good things come to an end,” said Hill.
“I’ll miss the most impressive group of professionals I’ve had the pleasure of working with. I’m looking forward to new challenges.”
