Formula 1 confirms a landmark extension with Miami, securing its place on the calendar until 2041—marking a new era in U.S. racing.
Miami and Formula 1 have sealed a long-term future together. A new 10-year extension means the Miami Grand Prix will remain on the F1 calendar through 2041, making it the longest-running race deal in the sport today.
Since its debut in 2022, the Miami Grand Prix has quickly become one of the most in-demand events in global sport. Combining high-speed drama on track with a signature Miami energy off it, the race has drawn fans from across the United States and far beyond.
In just three editions, the event has generated over one billion dollars in local economic impact. Organizers have also invested in the community with internship programs, local business promotions, and partnerships with charities aimed at creating a lasting positive footprint in South Florida.
Recognized for its outstanding execution, South Florida Motorsports was named Formula 1’s Promoter of the Year for 2024. The award highlights its commitment to delivering a premium fan experience and raising the bar for modern Grand Prix events.
Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali said the new deal marks a major milestone for the sport’s expansion in the U.S.
“In just three years, Miami has become one of the standout events in Formula 1. This extension is more than a contract. It’s a strong statement of our commitment to American fans and our growing presence in the U.S.,” Domenicali said. “Miami is a dynamic, global city and a cultural powerhouse. None of this would be possible without the leadership and vision of Stephen Ross and Tom Garfinkel, to whom I am deeply grateful.”
Tom Garfinkel, Managing Partner of the Grand Prix, called the extension a defining moment for the team and the city.
“Securing this agreement through 2041 reflects the belief we’ve had since day one. The Miami Grand Prix belongs on the world stage,” Garfinkel said. “This is thanks to a shared vision with Formula 1, the dedication of our staff, and the support from our community and partners. We’ve always aimed to create something that captures the energy of Miami while delivering a world-class race experience.”
He added that the long-term deal will allow even more investment in innovation, fan engagement, and meaningful local impact.
