Mercedes - Aston Martin Skip Launches, Head to Bahrain Directly

No Official F1 Launches for Mercedes and Aston Martin in 2025

18/01/2025

Mercedes and Aston Martin opt out of traditional launches, unveiling their 2025 F1 cars during Bahrain shakedown sessions instead.

Mercedes F1 and Aston Martin F1 do not plan to run at Silverstone or, apparently, hold an official launch event for their 2025 F1 cars.

In previous seasons, the German team has almost always debuted its new car at Silverstone during a shakedown and hosted an official launch event. However, for the 2025 W16, it appears no such plans are in place.

Mercedes will hold a filming day in Bahrain just before pre-season testing begins there on February 26, running for three days.

This filming day will mark the first public appearance of the new car, with George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli driving this season’s machine.

As expected, an older Mercedes model (featuring the new livery) will be showcased at the “F1 75” season launch event at London’s O2 Arena on February 18.

On Aston Martin F1’s side, Silverstone has also been skipped, and the team informed the media that the AMR25 will debut on February 25 in Bahrain alongside the W16, with no specific launch event planned. However, some details might be revealed online beforehand, according to sources.
